SURVEYOR'S QUEST

For Parents & Guardians

A safe way to explore a real career.

Everything you might want to know about Surveyor's Quest — what it is, what it costs, who your teen can talk to, and how we keep them safe.

What is Surveyor's Quest?

A free, game-based app that introduces high-schoolers to land surveying — a high-paying, high-demand career most teens have never heard of. Your teen learns what surveyors actually do, practices real skills, and can connect with licensed professional mentors.

Is it safe for my teenager?

Safety is the foundation. We only ever show a student's first name and last initial publicly — never their full name, email, age, or contact info. There is no private student-to-student messaging. Community channels are moderated, and our system automatically blocks attempts to share phone numbers, emails, or social handles.

Who are the mentors?

Verified, licensed professional surveyors — working adults in the field. Before your teen can talk with a mentor, we require your consent if they're under 18, and those conversations are logged for safety. There is no hidden, private 1:1 video.

Do I have to give consent?

Yes — for any student under 18, a parent or guardian must give consent before their teen can have any contact with a mentor. You're in control, and you can revoke consent at any time.

What does it cost?

The Quest, daily drills, and exploring the career are free. Optional paid extras exist (a low-cost membership and one-time mentor consults), but your teen can get the full core experience without spending anything, and nothing is charged without a clear, explicit checkout.

Why surveying?

There's a severe shortage of land surveyors — roughly four retire for every one entering the field — while demand from construction, data centers, and renewables keeps climbing. It's an outdoor, high-tech, six-figure-potential career your teen can start without a four-year degree or heavy student debt.

How do I see what my teen is doing?

Ask your teen to show you their dashboard anytime. If they connect with a mentor, you'll be notified, and you'll receive the consult details. We're actively expanding parent-facing visibility.

How do I report a concern or get help?

Email safety@surveyorsquest.com and a real person will respond. You can revoke consent or request account deletion at any time.
